America, How Dumb Can You Be?

Last week Barack Hussein Obama released his supposed "birth certificate", and the mainstream media bought it hook line and sinker. They didn't ask for more proof, they just took his word for it. Obama pulled the biggest scam in the history of our country and got away with it!

OK, enough joking around.Add Video

Did you know that 14 percent of Republicans STILL think Obama was not born in the USA? I kid you not, they actually do.

How is that possible? Were 14 percent of Republicans dropped on their heads as infants? Did they take too much acid? Are 14 percent of Republicans escaped mental patients?

It actually makes my brain hurt trying to figure out how that many people are that dumb.

Who Is Keeping America Safe?

2009:

Dick Cheney: "Obama is making us less safe"

Liz Cheney: Obama has not taken "the opportunity to stand up and defend America"

2010:

Tim Pawlenty: Obama "is projecting potential weakness, and enemies may see that and their respect may be reduced as a result of that, or worse."

2011:

Rick Santorum: Obama "is making America less safe" - April 29, 2011

President Barack Obama: "Tonight, I can report to the American people and to the world that the United States has conducted an operation that killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of al Qaeda, and a terrorist who’s responsible for the murder of thousands of innocent men, women, and children." - May 1, 2011

Gee guys...maybe it's about time for a reevaluation.

UPDATED:

Looks like the reevaluation has begun:

Rudy Giuliani: “I feel a great deal of satisfaction that justice has been done, and I admire the courage of the president to make a decision like this because if something had gone wrong everyone would be blaming him” - May 2, 2011

Peter King: "It really was a tremendously skilled operation…I give Obama full credit for this…if he would have gotten the blame if it didn’t work, then to me, I give him all the credit because it did work. So I have no problem giving him total credit for this." – May 2, 2011

Dick Cheney: "The administration clearly deserves credit for the success of the operation…we all owe him (Obama) the same sense of satisfaction that I'm sure they feel." – May 2, 2011

Allen West: "Congratulations to President Obama and his National Security Team for the capture and killing of the world's most dangerous and evil criminal mastermind, Osama bin Laden”. – May 2, 2011

Birthers, Are You Satisfied Yet? (You Fucking Morons)

The breaking news of the day - Obama was born in America. What a shocker.

How much you want to bet that in short time there will be some crazy Republican birthers back on TV saying this is a lie and he isn't a citizen?

Because one thing we have seen for years now, facts are lost on the radical Right.

Those people are fucking nuts.

Come On Republicans, Enough With The Hypocrisy

You can't be for the Citizen's United case that allows unlimited corporate donations to Republicans yet rail against Union's donations to Democrats.

You just can't.

Without shameful hypocrisy that is.

We MUST Stop The Attack Of The Evil Teachers

The Forbes richest list came out and said the number of billionaires in the world increased by 199 last year. Good job guys, I’m sure all of you worked hard for your money and contributed to society.

But those evil Democrats better not think about raising their tax rates by a whopping THREE PERCENT. If they do that, the billionaires will be left in financial ruin and might not want to make any jobs for the other 99.99999999% of the peasants in the country. After all, keeping their tax rates low has done wonders for the employment in America. Thank you billionaires, our economy wouldn’t be the same without you.

We all need to focus on the real enemy – teachers. Especially those fat cat ones in Wisconsin, whose typical average salary including benefits is worth a staggering $75,000 before taxes. With that lavish lifestyle they are bankrupting our country. After all, if only THIRTEEN THOUSAND of those teachers put together every penny of their gross salaries this year, they would have the same pile of cash as ONE billionaire. Then they might actually have some political clout and be able to buy the politicians. And then our country would be fucked.

Another Example Of A Real Newsman

If everybody in the country would watch Jon Stewart, they would actually learn something. And then maybe we could discuss how to solve our problems like rational adults.

Everyone should see this:

Wall Street And The Robbery Of The American People

Too often we Americans - all of us, myself included - get distracted with ideological battles. But if we would stop and just focus for a moment, we would see that we - Democrats and Republicans alike - have a common enemy. One that has succeeded in doing an amazing job of more or less going under the radar. And that enemy is the relationship between the financial /corporate world and our public officials - from both parties. The amount of corruption and crime that is allowed and overlooked is shocking and disgusting. And it has hurt all of us. Immensely.

Matt Taibbi has an amazing, eye-opening article in Rolling Stone that everyone should read. It makes you wonder, with all the protests about health care reform, teachers unions...where are the protests about the greatest robbery in the history of the country? Literally a robbery - there were crimes committed, but since bankers are above the law in this country, they don't even get a slap on the wrist.

Health care and education reform are important, and we can debate the best way to accomplish that, but to act as if those are the reasons our country is in an economic shitter is naive.

And this is by no means an indictment of capitalism. Capitalism has proven to be the greatest economic system for in history. But capitalism is based on a free market and competition. It ceases to be a free market when the rules and laws are written to stifle competition, to protect those with and to suppress those without from getting ahead.

Humans are not perfect, and greed and corruption will always be a part of the human condition. And when that greed is allowed to run rampant, unsupervised, the consequences can be disastrous, as history has also proven.

Instead of blaming health-care reform, the Tea Party, teachers unions and each other we should all focus on the real cause of our economic problems. How can we just overlook the fact that financial criminals stole an ENORMOUS amount of wealth from the American people, leaving many unemployed, homeless and uninsured, causing states to lose massive amounts of revenue while at the same time having to pay skyrocketing unemployment insurance and other assistance? The fact that they stole from all of us, decimating our 401ks and retirement funds. And then we, the taxpayers, BAIL THEM OUT. Bail out people who made off like bandits. We make it possible for them to keep their companies going, so that they can continue to reward themselves with massive bonuses. Of our money. People who do not need it, who did nothing to deserve it, people who in a true capitalistic economy should have lost it all, personally walking away with billions of our hard-earned tax dollars?

How do we Americans just let that slide?

If we don't fix that problem, we are all royally fucked.

It's Nice To See Some Sane Republicans For A Change

I find it sad - quite possibly the ultimate statement about how bad the political polarization in our country has become - that a very large segment of the so-called "Conservative" Republicans attack Michelle Obama over every single thing she does, no matter how benign. The hatred that they have towards her marks a new low in respect for human beings. Wait, I take that back, the Republican right hated Hillary with a passion. However, a lot of that had to do with her active efforts in crafting policy, particularly health care reform.

But this is differnt. Traditionally the First Lady always has a charity that they get actively involved with, something nobody would argue with. For example, Laura Bush was active in promoting literacy. And even with all the intense anger and hatred of GW from the left, you didn't hear them attacking Laura Bush.

Yet so many on the radical right, both politicians and commentators alike, have such hatred towards the current First Lady. I guess it's not surprising as so many of them are full of hate towards anybody not like them - other races, other sexualities, other religions, other political parties, intellectuals, war-protestors, unions, teachers...the list is endless. But still, even the most outspoken liberals never attacked Laura Bush.

I know what some would say "oh, Michelle said she wasn't proud of her country until 2008, blah blah". Fine, that is a fair criticism. But when she tries to promote a healthier country and is trying to fight childhood obesity, they go CRAZY. Fucking bonkers.

Seriously people - who on earth would say that our children should be fatter? Who would say that it is better if we as a country were less healthy? Nobody who is even remotely sane.

Yet they attack her with these absurd accusations that by her speaking out about nutrition that means the government is going to tell you what you can and can't eat. And that is such a ridiculous lie that only the most guillible and moronic among us would believe it. Yet many do.

Christie, Huckabee - hats off to you.

SHOCKER: FOX News Chief Encourages Lies...

I just can't believe it, Roger Ailes actually encouraged somebody to lie in order to make Republicans look good.
Shocker.

Wow, Fox News Actually Has ONE Journalist

As everyone with a working brain knows, FOX News is not actually a news channel. Propaganda yes, 24-hour infomerical for the Republican Party yes, but not news.

But I saw this and realized, maybe the way they can claim to be a "news" channel is because of one man - Shepard Smith. He actually speaks objective truth.

Check out his comments on this nonsense going on in Wisconsin:

"There is no budget crisis in Wisconsin," he said, adding that the unions "[have] given concessions."

The real point of the fight, Smith said, could be found in the list of the top ten donors to political campaigns. Seven out of the ten donated to Republicans; the other three were unions donating to Democrats.

"Bust the unions, and it's over," Smith said. He then brought up the Koch brothers, the billionaires who have bankrolled much of the anti-union pushback in Wisconsin. The fight, Smith said, "started" with the Kochs, who he said were trying to get a return on the money they donated to Walker's campaign.

"I'm not taking a side on this, I'm just telling you what's going on...to pretend this is about a fiscal crisis in the state of Wisconsin is malarkey," Smith said.

Like I said, he looks at facts and speaks the truth. How does he still have a job at FOX?

Republicans To The Heroes of 9/11 - You Are On Your Own, We Have Rich People To Help Out

The Republicans in the Senate just blocked a vote on the bill that would provide medical care to the heroes who responded like true patriots when America needed them to help their fellow citizens in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks.

Really guys...really? Are you fucking serious?

I thought the GOP was all about patriots, all about our troops, our police. I thought they were all about the heroes of this greatest country in the world. I thought that their party felt the impact from the horrible attacks on 9/11 just as much as the rest of the country.

Well, obviously I thought wrong.

This is such an outrage. Just plain morally disgusting.

There is no - and I mean NO - reason to not only allow this to go to a vote, but also no reason to not have a 100% yes vote on this.

Don't even try to justify it by saying it will cost $7 billion. Keeping the lower tax rates on the richest 2% of the country will cost $700 billion, and they have no problem with that.

Now you can debate that tax policy, that is fine. I think it's ridiculous to not raise taxes by 3% on the richest 2% of the country when our country is going bankrupt. However, maybe you naively think that "trickle down" works (it doesn't, fact, proven by history). That is your right. But don't try to tell me that the reason you are voting against medical care for America's heroes is because of cost - clearly the Republicans have no problem adding to the national debt if it is to help out the richest 2% of the country. Not a single person of which, by the way, was one of the responders. Police and firemen don't quite fall into that $250k + tax bracket.

The Republicans have stated that they will not vote for anything until the tax cuts for the richest 2% are passed. They actually find that to be a more important act then providing medical care to the heroes of 9/11. They care more about helping rich people than helping American heroes who need help most. How much more un-patriotic can you get?

"Go wait in the corner over there heroes, you may die in the meantime, we are going to let the rich people cut in line so we can give them a little more money that they don't need, I mean, after all, they are rich, and are so much more important than you".

So says the GOP.

This is the most blatant case of political opposition I have seen from them yet. Heroes be damned, we won't let the Democrats pass anything, we need to fight them on anything they suggest.

Fucking disgusting.

There is no defense for this un-patriotic action that the Republicans took today.

The Smartest Broadcasters On TV...And The Smartest Viewers Too

So today I was reading an article about Jon Stewart's Rally to Restore Sanity and in the article it mentioned a study done in 2007 (not immediately current, granted, but I would easily bet that the findings still hold up).

Turns out that the people in the country who are the MOST knowledgeable about politics and current events are…viewers of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. Seriously. Check out the numbers:

Maybe this is because smart people (we the viewers) are drawn to other smart people (Stewart and Colbert) who make them use their brain and actually think (and conversely, not drawn to babbling talking heads and idiotic pundits).

Funny that FOX news viewers are almost at the bottom. Not surprising though. They are one stupid bunch. Seriously.
