Yesterday I received an amusing email that was forwarded to me by one of my conservative friends. You may have seen it already. If not, you can read the text at the end of this post. It is one of those great internet pieces of truth that all citizens need to see so that we can save our country…just kidding, it’s a piece of garbage full of lies.
This is the perfect example of the kind of nonsense rhetoric that the Fox News types spew, and the type that their even dumber viewers (pretty much all of them) believe. Of course it’s about the death of America. After all, we elected a black man President, so now we are all doomed!
But check out just a few of the “stats” it cites. Supposedly from a professor, to make it look legitimate:
• Supposed murder rate in counties won by Obama. Secret translation – where the blacks live.
• The “conclusion” that McCain won all the areas full of “taxpaying citizens”, and Obama won all the areas full of “citizens living in low income tenements living off various forms of government welfare”. Secret translation – blacks.
While race may never be mentioned specifically, it is clearly implied. Race is the driving force of the rage of the teabagger movement. Race is what fuels their fire - their irrational fear of people who are different from them. The people who write this shit up know that their audience is full of many racists, so they try to send them subliminal messages without specifically saying blacks or Mexicans or whatnot. This way it looks “objective”.
The writers of this garbage also know that the overwhelming majority of their audience is so dumb they would never even think to question the statistics. Which anyone with half a brain would immediately know were bullshit because Obama won 28 states. Who is so dumb that they think Obama only won 19 states when he won the election in a landslide?
They know their audience doesn’t know how to use the Googles, because if they typed in this professor’s name, in 5 seconds flat you would find the Snopes page that shows that this professor never did such research, and that the numbers are flat out wrong. You would also discover that this exact same email, with the same “statistics”, was sent around after the 2000 election, after the 2004 election, and again after the 2008 election. And you would also see that on the professor’s page on the University’s website, he has a disclaimer saying he never wrote this and has been trying to kill this fallacy for the last 10 years. It took me more time to type these last three sentences than it did for me to find that out.
The most dangerous thing in the world is stupidity. It is what ultimately causes pretty much all of our problems. And as long as there are people who manipulate the stupidity of the teabagger types for their own personal gain, then it are they who are the greatest threat to America. Not that Socialist Communist Marxist Black Muslim Non-Citizen with the funny name.

It does not hurt to read this several times.
Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul , Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning last November's Presidential election:
• Number of States won by: Obama: 19 McCain: 29
• Square miles of land won by: Obama: 580,000 McCain: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Obama: 127 million
McCain: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by:
Obama: 13.2 McCain: 2.1
Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory McCain won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.
Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low income tenements and living off various forms of government welfare..."
Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.
If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegals and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.
