I am sick and tired of seeing teabaggers with signs to impeach Obama. Do they even understand how insanely stupid they look?
To impeach the President, they must be guilty of "treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors". Obama has done none of that. But these nut jobs think impeachment is a tool to overturn an election of somebody you didn’t vote for. You don’t like the President, simply impeach him, overturn the will of the people (a very loyal adherence to the Constitution these “patriots” have, isn’t it?).
Hell, as bad a President as he was, Bush never did anything to justify impeachment. If he was ever found guilty of committing treason, war crimes, etc., then of course he could be impeached. But just doing a bad job, absent crimes, is not an impeachable offense. Clinton they got because of perjury. Even though it was a bullshit politically funded witch hunt of a lawsuit, he did break the law, so there were legitimate grounds to bring those charges.
The Republicans/conservatives/teabaggers/whatever you want to call them, they obviously don't want to live in a democracy because they don't respect elections or the constitutional legislative process. If they don't get their way they call for impeachment because they didn't vote for the guy. Do you teabaggers even know how the founders wanted to change Presidents? A little process called VOTING.
They call for repeal if the other side passes a bill, regardless of the substance of the bill. That is secondary; they are just mad when their side loses.
They get crazy when they lose. Actually, they go literally insane. They call for secession, they spit on congressmen, call them niggers and faggots, throw bricks through windows, make death threats to Congressmen' children, they take up arms and form militia groups. Even the elected Republicans go nuts and won't even try to cooperate for the good of the country. They behave in such an unpatriotic manner that it is sad.
I do not agree with everything from the hard left, but the left rarely does that. Yes, you have lots of angry hippies who march about lots of shit – much of it silly. But they aren’t throwing bricks through Congressmen’s windows. And the elected democrats don't shut down congress like Newt tried in the nineties. They don’t refuse to do their jobs that they are elected to do (legislate) like the current Republicans are doing. You didn’t see every Democrat vote in 100% unison against everything the Republicans and Bush did. Maybe they should have more often, but they didn’t.
And what drives me nuts in the “news” media, etc, is when I hear people say that the divisiveness and hatred and violence and extremism comes from both sides. BULLSHIT. These days, it comes from the right. The lefties don’t take up arms and form militia groups. They don’t patrol the borders of Mexico like some fucking Death Wish-era Charles Bronson. They don’t call for revolution and secession. They don’t plan to kill police officers, they don’t blow up federal buildings, they don’t kill abortion doctors. They simply don’t do that.

These talking heads are so brainwashed into thinking that being “objective” means accepting both sides of an argument, even when one side is wrong or false, that they mislead the less enlightened viewers into thinking that both sides are equally right, that FACTS are equal to OPINIONS. By doing this, you are in essence sweeping this problem under the rug, and not doing anything to expose it or fix it. (I will say that there are exceptions to this – I saw Chris Matthews talk about how the violence and hatred is coming from the right – but only a few exceptions).
And I don’t want to hear about (this means you Pat Buchanan, whose memory seemed to have stopped in 1968) how there used to be violence from the left. Yes, you had a lot of that – in the 60s and 70s. You haven’t seen that happen in 30 years.
These pundits on TV try to downplay what is going on with the insane right wing nuts - the fear that many will soon transform into domestic terrorists (and sadly, that WILL happen) – by mentioning how angry the left wingers were with Bush, all the things they said about him. But that’s a bogus argument. Nobody was marching in the streets protesting Bush until he started the war in Iraq, which is now universally acknowledged as a giant mistake. And this even AFTER the fact that you could argue he did not win the election the first time, since the Supreme Court decided it was not necessary to count the votes of the American people. But even with that, lefties weren’t going out of their mind just because they lost the election. Nobody was calling for his impeachment until all the facts started to come out about the abuse of power his administration was engaged in.
This all shows the lack of patriotism by the right wing zealots, and their lack of respect for democracy or our Constitution. If you do not agree with them, you are not a real American, you are a commie, a socialist, a Muslim. If Democrats are elected then government is the problem. If Republicans are…well, they don’t have a problem with government then, do they?
They are hypocritical cry babies who throw tantrums when they don’t get their way.
That said, the good news is that this extremism will eventually ruin the Republican party. Maybe not this year, but it will splinter.

And then maybe the true Patriots in the Republican party will emerge.
