Come On Republicans, Enough With The Hypocrisy

You can't be for the Citizen's United case that allows unlimited corporate donations to Republicans yet rail against Union's donations to Democrats.

You just can't.

Without shameful hypocrisy that is.

We MUST Stop The Attack Of The Evil Teachers

The Forbes richest list came out and said the number of billionaires in the world increased by 199 last year. Good job guys, I’m sure all of you worked hard for your money and contributed to society.

But those evil Democrats better not think about raising their tax rates by a whopping THREE PERCENT. If they do that, the billionaires will be left in financial ruin and might not want to make any jobs for the other 99.99999999% of the peasants in the country. After all, keeping their tax rates low has done wonders for the employment in America. Thank you billionaires, our economy wouldn’t be the same without you.

We all need to focus on the real enemy – teachers. Especially those fat cat ones in Wisconsin, whose typical average salary including benefits is worth a staggering $75,000 before taxes. With that lavish lifestyle they are bankrupting our country. After all, if only THIRTEEN THOUSAND of those teachers put together every penny of their gross salaries this year, they would have the same pile of cash as ONE billionaire. Then they might actually have some political clout and be able to buy the politicians. And then our country would be fucked.

Another Example Of A Real Newsman

If everybody in the country would watch Jon Stewart, they would actually learn something. And then maybe we could discuss how to solve our problems like rational adults.

Everyone should see this:

Wall Street And The Robbery Of The American People

Too often we Americans - all of us, myself included - get distracted with ideological battles. But if we would stop and just focus for a moment, we would see that we - Democrats and Republicans alike - have a common enemy. One that has succeeded in doing an amazing job of more or less going under the radar. And that enemy is the relationship between the financial /corporate world and our public officials - from both parties. The amount of corruption and crime that is allowed and overlooked is shocking and disgusting. And it has hurt all of us. Immensely.

Matt Taibbi has an amazing, eye-opening article in Rolling Stone that everyone should read. It makes you wonder, with all the protests about health care reform, teachers unions...where are the protests about the greatest robbery in the history of the country? Literally a robbery - there were crimes committed, but since bankers are above the law in this country, they don't even get a slap on the wrist.

Health care and education reform are important, and we can debate the best way to accomplish that, but to act as if those are the reasons our country is in an economic shitter is naive.

And this is by no means an indictment of capitalism. Capitalism has proven to be the greatest economic system for in history. But capitalism is based on a free market and competition. It ceases to be a free market when the rules and laws are written to stifle competition, to protect those with and to suppress those without from getting ahead.

Humans are not perfect, and greed and corruption will always be a part of the human condition. And when that greed is allowed to run rampant, unsupervised, the consequences can be disastrous, as history has also proven.

Instead of blaming health-care reform, the Tea Party, teachers unions and each other we should all focus on the real cause of our economic problems. How can we just overlook the fact that financial criminals stole an ENORMOUS amount of wealth from the American people, leaving many unemployed, homeless and uninsured, causing states to lose massive amounts of revenue while at the same time having to pay skyrocketing unemployment insurance and other assistance? The fact that they stole from all of us, decimating our 401ks and retirement funds. And then we, the taxpayers, BAIL THEM OUT. Bail out people who made off like bandits. We make it possible for them to keep their companies going, so that they can continue to reward themselves with massive bonuses. Of our money. People who do not need it, who did nothing to deserve it, people who in a true capitalistic economy should have lost it all, personally walking away with billions of our hard-earned tax dollars?

How do we Americans just let that slide?

If we don't fix that problem, we are all royally fucked.

It's Nice To See Some Sane Republicans For A Change

I find it sad - quite possibly the ultimate statement about how bad the political polarization in our country has become - that a very large segment of the so-called "Conservative" Republicans attack Michelle Obama over every single thing she does, no matter how benign. The hatred that they have towards her marks a new low in respect for human beings. Wait, I take that back, the Republican right hated Hillary with a passion. However, a lot of that had to do with her active efforts in crafting policy, particularly health care reform.

But this is differnt. Traditionally the First Lady always has a charity that they get actively involved with, something nobody would argue with. For example, Laura Bush was active in promoting literacy. And even with all the intense anger and hatred of GW from the left, you didn't hear them attacking Laura Bush.

Yet so many on the radical right, both politicians and commentators alike, have such hatred towards the current First Lady. I guess it's not surprising as so many of them are full of hate towards anybody not like them - other races, other sexualities, other religions, other political parties, intellectuals, war-protestors, unions, teachers...the list is endless. But still, even the most outspoken liberals never attacked Laura Bush.

I know what some would say "oh, Michelle said she wasn't proud of her country until 2008, blah blah". Fine, that is a fair criticism. But when she tries to promote a healthier country and is trying to fight childhood obesity, they go CRAZY. Fucking bonkers.

Seriously people - who on earth would say that our children should be fatter? Who would say that it is better if we as a country were less healthy? Nobody who is even remotely sane.

Yet they attack her with these absurd accusations that by her speaking out about nutrition that means the government is going to tell you what you can and can't eat. And that is such a ridiculous lie that only the most guillible and moronic among us would believe it. Yet many do.

Christie, Huckabee - hats off to you.
